Tying Rene Harrop Patterns
Are you a spring creek junkie or simply a dry fly lover? Then this is the fly tying class for you! The patterns Rene Harrop has developed over the years for weary, selective trout are some of the best flies in the west. These patterns have become a staple in our boxes for selective trout and streams across the west. Though these patterns appear simple, they are more difficult to tie than they might appear. In this three night course, we will cover a wide variety of patterns across the typical fly fisherman’s bug spectrum. Ranging from small midges to summertime terrestrials, you will learn what goes into properly tying these flies: correct proportions, material selection a new skillset of techniques that are applicable to most fly tying. And of course, how to make your flies identical to the ones in the bins!
This course will require an intermediate skill level and plenty of patience, but it’s all worth it as these patterns are very fun to tie and will become go to bugs when you are out on the river. So whether you are just learning to tie Rene’s flies or want to refine what you’ve already learned, this class will be a great investment to your fly tying skills!
