Simms Guide Rain Jacket
Any dedicated fly fisherman knows how important a good rain jacket is. They also know that a good Gore-Tex jacket will fetch a pretty penny. When Simms came out with their Guide Jacket, we were very impressed. Not only by the $300 price tag, but the quality and durability this jacket offers. Many of the jackets we have on the shelf have all sorts of gizmos and gadgets that can be useful but also make for good line catchers. The simple two large pocket design is perfect for putting a few boxes into, and one of the reasons we like this jacket for trout and steelhead fishing.

Fishpond Deep Creek Chest Pack
Fishpond has changed the way fly fishing vests, chest packs, and backpacks are designed and made today. They have you covered with their product line from large backpack/vest combos that allow you to carry enough gear for multiple people, or very minimalist packs for those who want the bare essentials on the river. The Deep Creek Chest Pack is one of our top choices for most the fishing we do around Utah. It's the perfect size to fit a couple medium sized boxes, plus all your flotants, tippets, and whatever else you may need to carry. You can wear it like a traditional chest pack or satchel style. If you haven't used a chest pack before this is a great way to carry your gear without weighing you down.

Utah Fly-Fishing Guides
Our early guide season in Utah was one of the best in the past decade due to the great water years we have been having.  Now it's time to look ahead to summer and fall. By our bookings, which are way up for 2012, it looks like many of you are anticipating as good a year on the water as we are.  If the early season is any indication: great hatches, excellent water conditions and weather, we are in for a a really good year. It's been a while since all of us at Western Rivers have been this excited about a season.  If you are not familar with our guide service, we have a small but very good prfoessional staff of experienced guides at Western Rivers.  Similar to our shop, Western Rivers Flyfsiher, they will do their best to help you get the most out of your time on Utah waters. We provide guide service to the Provo, Weber, Green and other great waters here in Utah.  We're busy this year, so don't put off booking your trip.  Stop in if you can, if not give us a call today to book guided fly-fishing trip, (801)521-6424.
